Build up to a crucial clash with Cherries

Spurs will this afternoon face a Bournemouth side that enter the clash in brilliant form. After picking up the third most amount of points (behind Spurs and Leicester) since Christmas, Bournemouth will be arriving at White Hart Lane full of confidence and will be hoping to secure a positive result.
For Spurs, today’s fixture is a must-win game with Leicester having gone eight points clear at the top of the table; failing to get a win today could potentially mean that the Premier League winners have already been decided.

Team news

For Tottenham, Christian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele are expected to return to the side today while Ben Davies, Nabil Bentaleb, Jan Vertonghen and Clinton N’jie are out. Eric Dier will be assessed last minute following a fitness concern.

The Cherries are near to almost full fit squad with only Harry Arter (Achilles) and Junior Stanislas (hamstring) unavailable for selection.

What the managers had to say

Ahead of a good run of games, Eddie Howe has underlined how important it is for The Cherries to go into their remaining fuxtures with a positive attitude and not to think that they are safe of relegation.

In his press conference the Englishman stated: “There is no feeling in the camp that we are safe. The work ethic doesn’t change – we still want to win games.”

His managerial opponent, Mauricio Pochettino, has also stated that Spurs will need to go into today’s game with the right attitude as he called it “a must win fixture”.

Final word

The Tottenham boys will be need to have full concentration during today’s tie as throughout this Premier League campaign, Bournemouth have been playing with a counter-attacking and energetic style of play. On top of this, Spurs cannot let the pressure get to them as failing to secure a win today could possibly see an end to their Premier League hopes.

Bournemouth will be entering the clash with no fear and will be hoping to cause an upset just like they’ve done against Chelsea and Man United this season and it will be critical that Tottenham are up for it right from the outset . Let’s hope it’s a good one.
