Out for six weeks: Where next for Bentaleb?

Tottenham’s Nabil Bentaleb has undergone knee surgery that will see him ruled out for the remainder of what has already been a torrid season for the young midfielder.

Bentaleb has made just two Premier League starts in 2015/16

The French-born Algerian international, 21, has suffered for form this season, managing a mere 168 minutes of Premier League football this term and has slipped behind the likes of English duo Eric Dier and Dele Alli, despite having been a revelation in the previous season.

Bentaleb is expected to be out for approximately six weeks and the Algerian, potentially raising even more doubts as to whether the academy product still has a future at White Hart Lane; as we debated in the January of this year.

Pochettino is said to have been angered by the midfielder’s wrangling over the terms of his contract over last summer. If there’s one thing that’s clear to be seen, Pochettino is a man that doesn’t always give second chances; as Andros Townsend and Dani Osvaldo will undoubtedly testify.

Bentaleb may well be tempted to consider his options over the summer, and his midfield replacement might well have already been lined up.
