The first of our our series of throwbacks to splendid moments past starts with Tottenham’s last major honour as the boys ran out 2-1 victors over London rivals Chelsea.
Like all good fairy tale stories, this epic started with a moment of peril as a thundercunt of a Didier Drogba free kick saw Chelsea take a 1-0 lead in the tie.
Tottenham had much of the early play in the match, dominance that was vindicated as Berba calmly slotted in after Wayne Bridge had handled the ball to draw level.
Victory was assured in extra-time as a moment of calamitous goalkeeping from Petr Cech saw him comically pat the ball onto Jonathan Woodgate’s head to give Spurs a 2-1 lead.
Even more surprisingly, Woody steered clear of injury for the remainder of the fixture as the boys secured a surprise win.
Enjoy the highlights here as the match-winner himself discusses this historic victory!
