Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his complete surprise at fans’ desire for him to ACTUALLY play summer signing Georges-Kevin N’Koudou in Premier League fixtures.
Pressed on the former Marseille winger’s continued absence, Pochettino admitted: “We bought him in the summer in the hope that we would finally shut people up. I’m hugely surprised that people haven’t realised this?”
The manager has also admitted to his initial failure to remember that N’Koudou had even joined the club: “I’d forgotten we’d signed him tbh and kept calling him Clinton for the first week or so. Once I’d realised my mistake, that it wasn’t actually N’Jie, I was more than happy to let him come and sit on the bench every now and again.”
Pochettino, failing to contain his anger at persistent demands from the fanbase to now actually play the winger, spurted out: “Now people actually want me to play him in matches? Even if there’s more than three minutes to go? I’m completely flummoxed by this turn of events.”
The French U21 international arrived at the club this summer but has subsequently gone AWOL. It’s understood he’s enjoyed much of his time visiting some of London’s well known tourist attractions.
